2008 in Review:

Due to some health problems at the end of the year, I was benched for awhile. Not one to sit idle, I took the opportunity to start and finish many projects by the end of 2008:

  • Crocheted hat for oldest daughter
  • Knit slippers for youngest daughter
  • Knit socks and matching mittens for me
  • Crocheted and felted a black hat from roving for a sale item
  • Spun enough yarn to create one knit mitten for DH – have one spool spun as a start on the 2nd.
  • Fixed drum carder that fell apart after the 4th batt
  • Drum carded about 4 pounds of Shetland – waiting to be spun and/or dyed – no particular project in mind yet.
  • Drum carded a mix of caramel colored Alpaca and beige Baby Doll wool for socks.
  • Introduced school craft club to drop spindling
  • Got the school craft club started crocheting fingerless mittens.
  • Knit a sweater for my dog.
  • Started one pair of socks from scrap yarn – might not have enough to finish second sock – yuck.
  • Started knitting a MicroSpun bright green shell.

I missed the December Hadley Fiber Arts Guild meeting – boy that really bothers me still.

Looking forward to and planning for 2009:

  • Learn some new knitting techniques -such as reading charts for pictures.
  • Need to finish a vest I started as a gift (birthday in 11 days)
  • Spin the alpaca/baby doll to sock weight
  • Start those alpaca/baby doll socks! (for my hiking guys)
  • Get school craft club started on quilting.
  • Finish DH mittens
  • Dye and spin the Shetland – find a project – maybe a sweater for me.
  • Add to my knitting book collection
  • Add to my knitting needle collection (think Harmony!)
  • Knit a lace shawl for wedding in September – fiber is already spun.
