Jacket

Just finished this jacket for my oldest daughter. It gets shipped off on Monday so I just had to take a picture before I sent it.  It’s from a Leisure Arts crochet pattern booklet, the pattern is called Off the Hook from Total Crochet Fashions.  I used only two skeins of TLC Baby yarn (980 yards).  I had about 12 inches of yarn left over – how’s that for close!

Valentine Skirt

Just finished today in time for my honey to take me out for a wonderful dinner.  Skirt is my own pattern, made from the pink alpaca that I was supposed to make a sweater for my oldest daughter.  Even though I made the skirt snug and put six pearl buttons on the left side, it stretched a bit with wear to the point I might have to either do a drawstring or put in elastic.

Pink Alpaca Sweater

I just received a package of pink Alpaca yarn I bought off eBay. It is really nice and I think I got a really good deal. My lys doesn’t carry Alpaca. I’m going to make my oldest daughter a sweater out of it and the swatch is not coming out right.

The yarn is a bit thinner than the pattern calls for and I’ve swatched with several larger hooks. Wouldn’t you know it that the G hook is too small and the I hook is too big. Guess which hook from my rather large and obsessive assortment of thread size (actually a frosting cap hook) to size R I can’t find?

** Edit – tore it out and decided to make myself a skirt instead because I just couldn’t get the right guage.  She has plenty of other thing’s I’ve made her so I refuse to feel guilty.
